Another CREOBA Post
I have been receiving numerous emails from CREOBA every single day for a very long time and just archiving them for some future post or action that I have yet to think of. Today’s email does require a quick mention though. Apparently, CREOBA has decided to start offering their hugely valuable (ha!) courses via webinar! Here is an excerpt from the announcement:
Don’t Want to travel?
CREOBA is NOW offering online WEBINAR training programs
Translation: Nobody is coming to our classes which we have been trying in vain to host at hotel conference sites so we are hopeful that we can reach more suckers with a lower barrier to entry.
This is a very good strategy for CREOBA. Continuing to stoop to the deepest, darkest depths of the industry in search of the lowest hanging fruit has been a cornerstone of the CREABA mission statement since day one. This move only further ratifies the fact that CREOBA will do anything possible to remain on the bottom rung of the ladder. Way to go CREOBA!
It would appear that CREOBA does not know when to say enough is enough.

PART 1: I just started looking into CREOBA. I went to an event they held in Dallas yesterday. It was definitely full (60 in a room designed for 50). I know they turned at least one person away, because I overheard two CREOBA talking amongst themselves. There may have been others – I have no way of knowing. There were legitimate speakers and attendees. One speaker was from Canada. Attendees were from both costs – mainly California, one broker from Canada and one from Alaska. There were at least two large, legitimate buyers in the room. I don’t know if there were others.
PART 2: I just stated researching the organization today. I easily found your blog and I see that you are a strong critic of CREOBA. I do not question your views, but I do have a question for you: Do you believe CREOBA will never have legitimacy? They are new (I think less than two years old.) I am a CCIM and SIOR designee. Legitimacy of an organization is very important to me. As an example, CCIM may not have had legitimacy when they started. I have been told by older brokers (mostly retired now) that when CCIM started, they were handing out designations to brokers with good commercial experience, not requiring any classes or anything else. It is my opinion CCIM has very good legitimacy now. But they may have been rusty at the beginning. Who knows what we would find if blogs had existed then.
A CREOBA employee at the Dallas event I attended told me CREOBA had a couple of SIOR members. I asked him to send me their names via email and I gave him my card. If he does, I will call them to check their views of CREOBA.
I thank you in advance for any response you are able to provide.
