Another email in my inbox today from CREOBA. The reason I think this is newsworthy is twofold. First is the predatory tagline of their upcoming dinner: “Is the commercial real estate market about to collapse?” The second is the fact their guest speaker is a residential auction specialist.
Did I mention that I love their tagline: “Setting the standards for the commercial REO/ORE industry.” Really? That’s news to the commercial REO/ORE industry, I’m sure.
This tidbit from the email is too good not to highlight for your reading pleasure:

REO Brokers with Commercial background should also attend.Ray McLaine, CREOBA President, pointed out that, “Last year 4.5 Billion Dollars in Commercial Real Estate was foreclosed by Banks. This year, that figure could reach $20 Billion with $200 Billion more to come in the next few years.”
The Commercial REO Brokers Association is working with the Banks and Asset Management Companies to create standards of service and best practices
between the Bank REO Departments and the Brokers that will be selling their foreclosed properties.
